Welcome to the online resource for Betsey Hamm's brain child, Learning from Scratch.

We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides access to by-products of local manufacturing firms. By gathering, sorting, and redistributing these goods, LFS is able to utilize raw material that otherwise would end up in the landfill.

Through the efforts of the Learning from Scratch crew, our wood, fabric, and yarn by-products are distributed to local teachers and artisans via our outlet store and roving Scrapmobile (special deliveries available by request).

Learning from Scratch also provides programs and in-services to show teachers and students that there are no bounds to creativity.
